In three sentences
Hefesto has no account, server or statistics: your data stays on the phone. The only thing that leaves is what you send to the AI provider you choose, to GitHub or to the sources you download from. The app is free and provided as is; what you create with it is yours.

Version 2 · 18 October 2026 · Applies to Hefesto 0.7.6 and later.
The essentials
Hefesto does not collect your data. It has no accounts, no usage counters, no advertising or analytics, and there is no project server that receives what you do in the app. Everything stays on your phone except what you send out yourself, and here it is written, point by point, when that happens.
What is stored on your phone
- Your projects, their files, their chats with the agent, their memory (MEMORIA.md) and their trash, in the app's private storage.
- Your settings: appearance, language, chosen agent, themes you save, backgrounds and covers (a reduced copy of the images you pick is kept).
- Your AI keys and Library source keys, and GitHub access if you connect it, encrypted and excluded from Android backups.
- The Linux environment, the Agora tools and the models you install.
- The app's activity log and crash reports, so you can look into a failure. They do not leave unless you send them.
None of this is sent anywhere on its own. When you uninstall the app, Android deletes it all.
When something leaves the phone
Only when you ask, and always to whom you choose:
- Agent with your AI key: your request, the project context the agent needs to read and the attachments you give it go to the provider of that key (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, OpenRouter or whichever you configure), under its terms. Hefesto does not see or keep that conversation outside your phone.
- External agents (Antigravity, OpenCode, etc.): you install them from the Agora and they talk to their own services with your account. Their terms apply.
- Local models: they run on the phone. Downloading them is a connection to Hugging Face; using them connects to nothing.
- GitHub: cloning, pushing changes or opening pull requests uses your GitHub account. To connect it without putting secrets in the app, the authorization exchange goes through a small project intermediary (a Cloudflare Worker) that keeps the state of that step for five minutes and then deletes it; it never sees your code or your files.
- Agora and Library: downloading a tool or an asset is a connection to the server where it lives (GitHub, the Ubuntu repositories, Hugging Face, Sketchfab, Pexels, Pixabay, Freesound, Poly Haven…). Sources with a key use the key you entered.
- Checking for a new version: one query to GitHub for the list of published releases. It carries nothing of yours beyond what any connection carries (your IP address).
- Reporting a problem: you send it. It includes what you write, the Hefesto and Android versions, the phone model, memory, the active agent and the last lines of the log. Keys, tokens and passwords are redacted before it leaves, even if you pasted them by mistake. You see the full text before sending. It reaches the author's email through a form service; you can also copy or share it any way you like instead of sending it.
- Supporting the project: the button opens the Ko-fi page in your browser. What happens there is between Ko-fi and you.
Permissions
- Internet: for everything above.
- Microphone: only to dictate in the chat, with your phone's speech recognizer. It is requested the first time you tap the microphone and can be refused: the app keeps working.
- Notifications: to tell you when the agent finishes, asks for permission or fails, and to keep working with the screen off.
- Camera: Hefesto does not request the camera permission. "Take photo" opens the phone's camera app and receives the picture.
- Files: Hefesto uses the Android picker. It only touches the files you choose to open, import or export.
- Install apps: so you can install the APKs you build. Always through the Android installer.
- No battery limits (optional): so Android does not cut off a build or a long answer.
Minors
Hefesto is not aimed at people under 16 and asks no one for data.
Your rights
Since Hefesto keeps none of your data anywhere, there is nothing to request or delete outside your phone. To delete what is inside: remove the projects you want, clear the log from Settings › Help, or uninstall the app. If you sent a report and want it deleted, write from Settings › Help and it is removed.
Changes
If this text changes, its version number and date change, and the app shows it with the release notes. Previous versions remain in the public repository's history.

License of use
Version 2 · 18 October 2026 · Applies to Hefesto 0.7.6 and later.
Hefesto is an application by Diego Ortiz. It is distributed free of charge, ready to install (APK). The app's code is not published; the licenses of all the open source it carries are published and included here.
You can
- Install and use Hefesto on as many phones as you want, free, for whatever you want: studying, working, selling what you make with it.
- Keep everything you create. Your projects, the code the agent writes, the apps you build and what you export are yours; Hefesto claims nothing over them.
- Pass the official download link to anyone.
- Install the tools you need from the Agora. Each keeps its own license, shown on its card.
You cannot
- Redistribute the APK outside the official channels (third-party stores, repositories or packages): that way nobody installs a tampered copy.
- Modify, decompile or repackage the app, or publish derived versions or ones posing as Hefesto.
- Sell the app or present it as your own.
- Use the name "Hefesto" or its logo for another app or service.
These limits are about the app. They do not reach what you produce with it.
Open source inside
Hefesto includes PRoot, glibc and other components under GPL and LGPL, libraries under Apache, MIT and BSD, fonts under the Open Font License and third-party logos. Their full license texts and links to their source code are in Settings › Legal › Third-party licenses. GPL and LGPL components are included unmodified, as separate files, and their source code is available at the links given; if you could not obtain it there, ask from Settings › Help and it will be sent to you.
Voluntary support
Hefesto has no ads and no in-app purchases. If you want to support the project there is a Ko-fi link. It is voluntary, buys no features or priority and changes nothing in this license.
No warranty
Hefesto is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It may fail, close or give wrong results: what an artificial intelligence agent writes must be reviewed. To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for damages or losses arising from use of the app, including projects, files, builds or spending with AI providers. Make backups from Settings › Backups.
Third parties
Android is a trademark of Google. The names and logos of Agora tools belong to their owners and are shown only to identify them. AI providers, GitHub and Library sources have their own terms, which apply when you use them. Hefesto is not affiliated with any of them.
Languages
This license is published in several languages. If they differ, the Spanish version prevails.

Terms of use
Version 1 · 18 October 2026 · Applies to Hefesto 0.7.6 and later.
They are short because Hefesto is simple: an app that works on your phone, with no accounts and no servers of its own.
What Hefesto is
A programming agent that lives on your phone: it creates projects, writes code, runs commands in its own Linux and builds applications. The agent is an artificial intelligence system: what it answers is generated by a model, with your key or on your own phone, and it can be wrong. You decide how much rein to give it (Review, Plan or Auto) and you review the result.
What is yours
- Your projects and everything the agent produces inside them.
- Your AI keys and your accounts. What you spend with an AI provider is between that provider and you; Hefesto charges nothing and keeps no share.
- Your backups. Make them: the app stores nothing outside the phone.
What we ask of you
- Use Hefesto within the law of your country and the terms of the services you connect (AI providers, GitHub, Library sources).
- Do not use it to do harm: malware, harassment, impersonation or breaking into other people's systems.
- Respect the licenses of the tools you install from the Agora and of the material you bring from the Library. The app records those licenses in your project (CREDITOS.md and LICENCIAS.json) to make it easy.
- You must be 16 or older.
What the app does on its own
Nothing that leaves the phone without you asking. It checks the list of published releases to tell you if there is a new one and, if you enable it, downloads what you install. Details are in Privacy.
No warranty and liability
Hefesto is provided as is, free and without warranty. To the extent the law allows, the author is not liable for data loss, wrong results from the agent, spending with providers or damages arising from use of the app. If something fails, tell us from Settings › Help: that is what gets it fixed.
Changes
If these terms change, their version number and date change, and the app shows it with the release notes. Continuing to use Hefesto afterwards means accepting them.
Languages and contact
If languages differ, the Spanish version prevails. Contact: Settings › Help › Report a problem, or Hefesto's public repository on GitHub.
Third-party licences
The same list the app shows in Settings › Legal › Third-party licences
Hefesto includes open-source code from others. GPL and LGPL components ship unmodified, as separate files; their source code is at the links. The Android and Kotlin libraries resolved at build time (mostly Apache 2.0) are listed with their exact version inside the app.
